Vidya Balan shoots for FHM March 2012 Issue

Vidya Balan, though synonymous with Indian attire and sarees, is also synonymous with sizzling, raw $ex-appeal. No wonder, she has set the temperatures soaring with the March issue of FHM where she goes ooh la la exposing her back while covering her frontal assets with a lungi. And going by the look of it, the beautiful actress has surely lost the “dirty” pound she had gained for her Silk avatar. The actress has again posed backless for the same magazine for the March issue, earlier Vidya exposed for FHM magazine in the year 2010.
Seems like Vidya Balan is getting just too desperate to be in the run for the $exiest actress of the year. The latest scuttlebutt is that Vidya will also be bringing out her sexy side on the Harper’s Bazaar this month. As the magazine celebrates its third anniversary with Vidya as the ultimate Bazaar girl, Vidya sports three great looks for the photoshoot – subtle glam, rock chic, and glam rebel. Char Din ki Chandni Movie review

Movie Review (2012)
Film: “Chaar Din Ki Chandni”

Starring: Tusshar Kapoor, Kulraj Randhawa, Om Puri, Anupam Kher
Directed by: Samir Karnik
Rating: ** 1/2

Don’t ask who’s who, what’s what, and why things happen here. And your life will be much easier while watching this utterly scrambled comedy. A homage to those magnificent maestros of mirth David Dhawan, Anees Bazmi and Rohit Shetty, “Chaar Din Ki Chandni”(CDKC) takes the theme of outrageous festivity to a new high.

Characters, all 27-28 of them, are either screaming, guffawing, burping or performing one or the other bodily functions that we are squeamish about when not watching a boorish comedy.

So what’s this Chandni about? There’s a wedding at the centre of the bustling canvas. As in Karnik’s earlier comedy “Yamla Pagla Deewana” you’d be well-advised to focus hard on that wacky wedding because that’s where the army of characters, some loud others cacophonic, congregate in a combustion of comic compulsions.

Be warned. If you are allergic to toilet humour then you might find Karnik’s comedy a pain in the you-know-what. To his credit Karnik doesn’t let go of the sur of chaotic satire from the first to the last blast. His actors too are completely soaked in the hilarity. Anupam Kher and Om Puri as the two patriarchal heads of two demoniacally dysfunctional families go through the motions of free-falling slapstick without tripping over the jokes.

The rest of the vast cast features some surprising actors, like Chandrachur Singh and Anita Raj both of whom return after quite a gap. Regrettably the tightly-packed canvas allows no room for any actor to shine beyond the cheesy lines written by Amit Masurkar and Nishant Hada.

Miraculously, the love story between the star-crossed couple survives. Tusshar and Kulraj are no Romeo and Juliet. But then this is no epic love tale. The pair here is entertaining. Tusshar’s Sardar act is amusing. The packaging and presentation of the comic ambience throws forward a certain quicksilver quality of humour that isn’t meant for all tastes.

As far as ensemble comedies in Bollywood goes “Char Din Ki Chandni” is spunkier more energetic than what you’ve probably seen in the other recent ha-ha-thons. (IANS)

Blood Money Songs

Why there isn't a genre called 'Bhatts', for soundtracks ? One can easily identify if the song that is being played is from Bhatt camp's movie. Blood Money is one such album. [and, no, not a complaint there, complement - yes].Chaahat by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has that old world charm and Sayeed Qadri's mushy words makes it instantly likable. Similarly Gunaah & Jo Tere Sang by Mustafa Zahid makes a perfect mark from first listen itself. Teri Yaadon se 's rock sounds are tried and tested, sounds bland. Arzoo, a 'hindi' track by Clinton Cerejo, sounds totally out of the league, has traces of songs of movie Jashnn. Last one, Gunaah-Unplugged version by Rana Mazumdar, is a smooth, soft variation of the faster former version. Nice.  Overall, an 'all male' OST again, a Bhat affair of course.

Imran Khan as baddie in ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2′

Bollywood actor Imran Khan, known for his chocolate boy looks, will turn baddie for the sequel of the 2010 film “Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai”. He will play a don in parallel lead with Akshay Kumar.

The movie was to feature Shahid Kapoor earlier but now Imran has been finalised for it.

“Talks were on with Shahid but we have decided on Imran now. Imran loved the script, and we are very gung-ho about this project. The audience will get to see a different Imran,” Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures, told IANS.

In the film, Akshay will be seen as underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and Imran will play his rival Aslam.

The project will be directed by Milan Luthria, who is basking in the success of “The Dirty Picture”.

The prequel – “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai” – had Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi together on screen. Their mentor-turned-rival chemistry as Sultan Mirza and Shoaib, respectively, was appreciated.

Producers are hoping that the Akshay-Imran pairing works wonders for the sequel too. (Courtesy: filmi town)

Rhea Kapoor to make next film on ‘Herogiri’

It seems Rhea Kapoor is in love with books. After presenting a modern adaptation of the classic novel “Emma” through her debut film “Aisha”, the young producer has bought the rights to Indian author Mainik Dhar’s “Herogiri”.

The younger daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, Rhea is adapting the book into a full-fledged screenplay.

The 25-year-old sibling of actress Sonam Kapoor will announce her movie’s cast soon, said a source.

“Herogiri” is an Indian take on the superhero genre. It is said to be a racy, action-packed novel about good and evil, power and corruption, love and violence.

The narrative follows the life of Arnab Bannerjee, a shy 25-year-old, who has little excitement in his life other than tracking down missing books as an assistant librarian in a Delhi University college.

But everything changes the day he awakens to discover superhuman powers within him. He begins his crusade against eve-teasers, highway robbers, corrupt policemen, and scheming politicians and their goons. But his most challenging mission is to thwart a deadly terror attack on Delhi.

Over time, he realises that to succeed he has to become a part of the very system he hates. How he fights for his mission and whether he sticks to his ideals is the mystery element in the story. (Courtesy: filmitown)
