Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein (2012) Movie Review
For a film which advises people to not take life too seriously and to stop to smell roses on the way, Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein itself seems to have been determined to not let the audience have a good time. The film, which stars Sachin Khedekar and Anupam Kher, is as preachy and boring as it gets.
Aditya Pradhan (Sachin Khedekar) is a top-notch IT professional with a wife and daughter but no time for either of them as he is too busy either tapping away at his laptop-even when having his breakfast or barking instructions to his subordinates. Needless to say, Pradhan ends up missing to attend all the important events in the lives of his family members and is given the cold shoulder by the scorned women, who leave the house to stay with Pradhan's wife's family.
Things take a turn for the worse when Pradhan spends a lonely Sunday by himself and wakes up the next day to see that the day has been repeated and the same things that happened a day ago are being repeated. Though Pradhan is disturbed by this turn of events, he is convinced by his friend Mohan (Atul Parchure) that he needs rest and that such things are happening solely because of work stress. The protagonist reluctantly accepts this explanation and retires for the night, only to wake up the next day and discover that it is still a Sunday.
The search for the answers of this baffling mystery leads him to the door step of an anonymous visually impaired stranger (Anupam Kher) and how the latter manages to make Pradhan see the light of the day and enjoy every moment of life forms the rest of the plot.
At the very outset, though Khedekar managed to perform quite effectively, his bad hairpiece makes him look unintentionally comical. If that was not enough, seeing a fine actor like Anupam Kher behave like a juvenile and guffaw and clap his hands like a retard at every situation is sure to put you off. The supporting cast though does manage to hold its own, from actors like Mrinal Kulkarni to Vijay Patkar to Anjan Shrivastav to Atul Parchure.
However, the lack of a powerful script and too much of preachy dialogues, which seem to hammer home the same point again and again with irritating regularity, is enough to make one groan in agony. (I mean, seriously…this guy doesn't really deserve to go through so much distress just because he is a workaholic, eh? A peaceful weekend getaway might have achieved the same results, for all you know…)
All in all, being a workaholic on the weekend is a better idea than taking the time out to watch Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein

Paoli Dam's HATE STORY not for kids!
The bold theatrical trailer of HATE STORY clearly indicated that the film will be certified as an adult film with an 'A' certificate. However, the director of the film, Vivek Agnihotri, also claims that his film is not for people below certain age and meant only for the adults.
Says the director, "Our motto is not to reach out to the masses but to reach out to the right person. And obviously this is an adult film. It is not meant for kids. And also not for them who think like kids."
According to Agnihotri, the film, which stars Paoli Dam, Gulshan Devaiyah and Nikhil Dwivedi, is India's first erotic movie. The film is about revenge and hate splattered with raunchy elements. On asking actor Nikhil Dwivedi his views on the same, he said, "Why are we discussing about 'A' Certificate? If the film is made only for the adults, then it is so obvious as what the censor board will certify it... It's an adult film and I don't think it is something new to Hindi Cinema."

Preity Zinta shoots for film in moving train
Raj Kapoor may have gone 'around the world' in eight dollars while Jackie Chan too boasted of travelling 'around the world' in 80 days. However for Preity Zinta it was an experience of different kind as she went around the French Alps in a train for eight hours and that too to can a scene that didn't last for even eight minutes.
This resulted in quite some rush for the crew since only a handful of people could be assigned for the job. Also, the shot division had to be planned in such a manner that there were no continuity lapses felt when the train returned in the opposite direction even though the scene was planned to be in one stretch. Director Prem Raj had to plan the entire shoot in such a manner that everything was wrapped up in the eight hours round trip of the train."Since Preity and Prem had permission to shoot for only one day, they had to get it all right before stepping into the train. Though the final length of the sequence lasts a mere three minutes, an entire day was spent in setting the equipment while ensuring that co-passengers weren't disturbed or too excited about the shooting being held amidst them," informs our source.

Priyanka campaigns for clean Yamuna river
Actress Priyanka Chopra apart from acting is taking keen interest in different activities related to the environment and society. The actress is, at present, the green ambassador for an environment campaign kicked by Greenathon.
Priyanka Chopra was in Agra recently. Instead of savoring the beauty of Taj Mahal, Priyanka decided to clean the bank of river Yamuna for a good cause. Priyanka cleaned the Yamuna river here in a symbolic gesture as part of an initiative to create awareness for environmental issues. Wearing oversized sunglasses and a white kurti, the 29-year-old star picked up a mason's fork and cleaned the floating rubbish from the bank of the Yamuna at the Dussehra ghat, with the iconic Taj Mahal in the backdrop.
The event kickstarted the fourth NDTV Greenathon campaign, of which Priyanka is the brand ambassador. "This time we began our campaign from Agra because tourist inflow is maximum here. Taj Mahal is on the bank of river Yamuna, which has become a dumping zone of waste materials now. If we do not protect our environment our future will be dark," Priyanka said.
Model-actor Milind Soman and Abhishek Mishra, Minister of State for Protocol, UP, alongwith local environmental organizations and school children joined her in the effort. The whole exercise took about an hour. Earlier, the actress spent about an hour visiting the Taj Mahal.
Launched in April 2008, the NDTV-Toyota Green campaign is aimed at creating awareness about environmental issues. As part of this year's drive Soman will run from Delhi to Mumbai, starting on April 19 and ending in Mumbai on May 20, when Greenathon 4 will have its gala annual fund raising telethon.

Salman not ghost directing 'Dabangg 2' claims Arbaaz
Actor turned filmmaker Arbaaz Khan's most ambitious project 'Dabangg 2' has finally been taken on the floors last month and it is progressing at brisk pace. It’s no hidden fact that Salman Khan takes a lot of personal interest in his projects. But the rumour had it that Sallu’s personal interest in the making of Dabangg 2 doesn’t just border on making suggestions but has translated into taking over the directorial cap from Arbaaz Khan, the producer and director of the sequel.
Ever since it has been heard that Arbaaz Khan is directing the sequel of blockbuster hit Dabangg, people in town are busy making some or the other speculation about the same.
Though Arbaaz never bothered to react on any of the questions raised at his directional skills but looks like his patience has been tested a lot and he is not game for more.
“I agree Salman is extremely experienced and we'd be stupid not to take his advice. But on the sets, there is a very democratic atmosphere. Right from the spotboy to the actors, they are all welcome to make suggestions. I listen to everyone but do exactly what I want to,” Arbaaz is quoted as saying in a media interview.
Arbaaz has been involved with Dabangg 2 for over a year now and has been part of the film’s scripting, casting and now shooting.
He has taken over the directorial reins from Abhinav Kashyap who directed Dabangg but opted out of Dabangg 2.

If buzz is to be believed, Saif has been longing to work in a comedy flick from quite sometime now. He had also approached director Sajid Khan to direct films for his production house, however, due to certain reasons, Sajid declined the offer.
We do not know why Salman Khan has been taken out of the film.
Presently, Saif Ali Khan is shooting with Deepika Padukone and newbie Diana Penty, for ****tail.
Judwaa 2 is expected to release by early 2013.

‘Race 2′ will release on Jan 25 next year (2013)
Director duo Abbas-Mustan’s multi-starrer thriller “Race 2″ will be released Jan 25 next year. The makers promise more grandeur and thrill in the movie, a sequel to the 2008 movie “Race”.
“We felt it was just the right date to release our film,” producer Ramesh Taurani said in a statement.
The multi-starrer thriller features Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel.
“We shot for the second schedule from Jan 23 to Feb 24. It took off smoothly and the star cast has been accommodating throughout. We are very excited and hope to make ‘Race 2′ bigger and better than the original,” Taurani said.
Abbas Burmawalla of director duo Abbas-Mustan said: “‘Race 2′ is in the same genre and will be made on a grand scale as the original. We will be shooting in Turkey and Cyprus next. The story has plenty of twists and turns, and every character will have gray shades.”

‘Vicky Donor’: Music Review (2012)
Music Review (2012)
Film: “Vicky Donor”
Music Director: Abhishek-Akshay, Donn-Bann, Rochak Kohli and Ayushmann
Lyricist: Kusum Verma, Vijay Maurya, Ayushmann Khurrana, Juhi Chaturvedi and Swanand Kirkire
Singers: Akshay Verma, Aditi Singh Sharma, Clinton Cerejo, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vishal Dadlani, Sunidhi Chauhan, Bann, Mika Singh and Sukanya Purkayastha
Rating:
“Vicky Donor” is a first for many – it not only marks John Abraham’s foray into production, it is popular VJ Ayushmann Khurana’s first movie too and Abhishek-Akshay also start their journey as music director with the movie. They duo impress with the rawness in the album.
Donn-Bann, Rochak Kohli and Ayushmann too have contributed in the film’s soundtrack. The compositions are supported by lyrics from five different lyricists, who have done a decent job.
Opening track “Rokda” has ordinary lyrics, but the catchy tunes and composer Akshay Verma’s voice make it worth listening. Aditi Singh joins him and together they manage to pull it off well.
Next on the list is “Kho jaane de”, a soft love song with a nice composition. But yet again, Juhi Chaturvedi’s lyrics are a major lowdown. It is the singers Aditi and Clinton Cerejo who carry the song on their shoulders and make an impact with their melodious voice. The composition adds zing to the song, which is simple yet well crafted.
It is “Rum Whiskey” that manages to pack a punch and takes away the dullness from the soundtrack. The groovy Punjabi number has our very own Bollywood hunk John Abraham shaking a leg. My prediction is that even if the movie doesn’t work, the song will surely be a hit, especially at wedding parties for a long time.
“Paani da rang” comes as a wonderful surprise with Ayushmann, who seems to have gained a fair bit of experience by hosting music shows, singing it. He amazingly fits the bill. His fresh and soothing voice goes well with the composition, a blend of folk and pop tunes.
Ayushmann has co-composed and penned parts of the song and it is an absolute delight. The track also has a female version by Sukanya Purkayastha, which is equally comforting to the ear.
What follows is love ballad “Mar jayian”. Composed by newcomers Donn-Bann, the song has elements of both Sufi and rock.
The lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire and mesmerising voices of Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani do justice to the song. This is a perfect song, so just lay back and enjoy it.
It also has a sad version sung by Bann, which has a rustic feel and would be a good listen for those facing heartbreak blues.
Last but definitely not the least is “Chaddha” where Mika delivers the perfect ending track. It has funny lyrics like “Kismat ke lag gaye pakode, peeche pad gaya Chaddha” and catchy beats pointing to the character of Dr. Chaddha played by Annu Kapoor, who is chasing sperm donor Ayushmann.
Overall “Vicky Donor” is a good effort and the coming together of various artists makes it worth a listen.
