Barfii is an upcoming Indian romantic comedy film directed by Anurag Basu. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz in lead roles. It is expected to be released on September 14, 2012. Ranbir Kapoor reportedly plays the role of a deaf-mute person. Priyanka Chopra will play the role of a mentally challenged girl, for which she attended a mental asylum to get into the skin of her character. In addition, Tollywood actress Ileana D'Cruz will play the role of the narrator.

Ranbir, Vidya bag IIFA best actors award

Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan bagged the best actors’ award at the IIFA. Ranbir walked away with the honor for his fabulous performance in ‘Rockstar’ while Vidya grabbed the award for ‘The Dirty Picture’.
 Ranbir and Vidya bagged the best actors award in all the award shows held this year. Zoya Akhtar received the best film and best director award for her film, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Parineeti Chopra won the IIFA for 'Best Female Debut' for 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl'. Veteran actress Rekha and filmmaker Ramesh Sippy are honored with 'Lifetime Achievement' trophy.
 The evening saw some scintillating performances from stars of every generation. The most rocking performance of the award night was of the father-son duo, Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor made a grand entry with guitar on hand and grooved on ‘Saada haq’ from his hit film ‘Rockstar’. He donned tapori hat and danced to the tune of Chillar Party.
 Rishi entered the stage saying his famous line from the film ‘Karz" – “Kya tumne kabhi kisi se pyaar kiya” - and soon the audience joined him in completing the line saying.... “kiyaa...”, before he kick started his performance.
 Both the father and the son grooved together on popular number ‘Paisa yeh paisa’ from the film ‘Karz’.

It’s Ranbir – Sonakshi for Abhinav Kashyap’s next?

Abhinav Kashyap is on the hunt for an actress to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in his next film ‘Kaarnaama’.

Abhinav wants to cast Sonakshi for the role as he thinks she suits the part and they have an amazing working rapport as they both made their debut in the industry with Dabangg (Abhinav as a director and Sonakshi as an actress).
The producers are against Abhinav’s proposal and wants to cast a fresh face.
The film is a love story and Ranbir would be seen playing a Delhi goon, using foul language.

As far as Indian mythology goes, Arjun from Mahabharata is one of the most well-known characters apart from Karna, and the former has inspired many fables, comic books and film adaptations (Ranbir Kapoor's character in Raajneeti was said to be based on Arjun). Directed by Arnab Chaudhuri, the latest flick on the ace archer titled Arjun: The Warrior Prince proves without a doubt that the epic hero is still very much in demand and that Indian animation has arrived and reached that level where adults will be as engrossed as children in the adventures of a boy, who grew up to be one of the greatest heroes of Indian mythology.
 The story begins with a young prince asking his female caretaker to narrate him a story and the latter obliges him, starting to recite the tale of the mighty empire of Hastinapur and the Kuru family that ruled it. The story moves on to show how the Kauravas and the Pandavas locked horns even as teenagers and how a young boy was forged into becoming a fearsome warrior by his guru, Dronacharya. The film also touches upon epic incidents like Draupadi's swayamwar, the exile to which the Pandavas are banished and the rigged dice game, in which the wily Shakuni manages to manipulate the noble Yudishthira into losing everything…
 At the very outset, what works for the movie is the amazing animation and graphics, which takes your breath away; the attention to detail when it comes to action scenes is admirable. Furthermore, the makers have kept it in mind to keep the dialogues of the epic as audience friendly as possible, so the lines are bereft of archaic words and are easy to understand for the most part. The sound effects technicians and the voice artistes also seem to have done justice to their parts and the humour, as and when it appears (like in the scenes showing Bheema's gluttony and the confusion created while identifying the twins Nakul and Sahadev) does elicit chuckles.
 However, on the flip side, the director seems to focus so much on Arjun that he seems to ignore other pivotal characters like Karna- Arjun's arch nemesis and the ultimate anti-hero. Indeed, the Karna in the flick seems more like a baddie henchman than the real threat to Arjun, which the warrior was as per mythology. The director also skips the incident of the disrobing of Draupadi and her subsequent rescue by Krishna, which was one of the main reasons which sparked off the blood-bath at Kurukshetra. Moreover, the use of songs in the background during action scenes or emotional scenes comes across as a dampener and one wishes that the makers could have used some appropriate mantras in the background to pack a punch (like in Vaastav, where director Mahesh Manjrekar has used shlokas and mantras in the background during intense scenes).
 Nevertheless, compared to other Indian animation flicks like Roadside Romeo and Bal Ganesh that have come up in the past, Arjun: The Warrior Prince is without doubt a cut above the rest for the sheer animation brilliance and special effects.
 

Catch the first look of ‘Bloody Veer’!

We have some bad news for all the Ranbir Kapoor fans. Well, just recently, buzz was that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as a vampire in a film titled, ‘Bloody Veer’. However, the makers of the film have rubbished all rumors by releasing the films first look.Now, ‘Bloody Veer’ will not star Ranbir.
The producer of the film, Siddharth Jain, says that he is in search of a fresh face for the film.
Jain is quoted saying, “I am looking at casting new faces for the film. As it is, a lot of newcomers do come to us since we promote new talent so we will hold auditions too and then take a call on the cast.”
In the films poster, a fair skinned guy, holding his collars up, is seen.
The movie that will hit the theaters this Halloween, is directed by Heeraz Marfatia.

Ranbir Kapoor turns Vampire!

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as a Vampire in his next flick. The filmed is titled Bloody Veer, and is on the lines of ‘Twilight’. RK has already signed the film.
 Says a source about the film, “It’s a light-hearted funky venture and one could say its the coming together of Wake Up Sid and Twilight. It is about hip youngsters and a gang of friends. It’s a fun film with a dash of humour and romance.”
 The film being a comedy has gotten Ranbir Kapoor to get quite excited. All details of the film are kept under wraps.
 Bloody Veer will be directed by Heeraaz Marfatia and produced by Siddhartha Jain.
 Ranbir Kapoor is currently shooting with with ex-flame Deepika Padukone for Ayan Mukherjee’s film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani .

Kareena-Ranbir say YES to Zoya Akhtar’s next!

After a lot of coaxing from many film makers, Kareena Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor have finally decided to do a film together for Zoya Akhtar.
The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara director has successfully managed to convince the actors. Now, RK and Bebo will share the scree as brother-sister in Zoya’s next film.
According to a source, “Both Ranbir and Kareena were always aware that they couldn’t pair romantically for any film. So for them to come together for any project, it needed to have an extraordinary script. Zoya narrated the idea to Kareena while she was shooting for Talaash. Kareena immediately loved it. Ranbir too has given it his consent. The film will now go on floors by the end of this year,” said the source.
It is heard that the film portrays a brother-sister relationship.
 “Zoya will be reviving the brother-sister relationship genre. And she has now managed to cast real life siblings Ranbir and Kareena for it,” added the source.

Barfi’s biggest secret out!

Basu confirmed the news, and added, “I was at the airport when I first caught a glimpse of Ranbir and that too on mute. I was shocked. I thought someone had put Barfi!’s first look out there without my knowledge!”
Basu says he made some frantic calls, and was told that it was an ad. “I caught the complete ad later and was taken aback with what I saw. Ranbir’s getup in the TV ad is almost identical to that of his old-age look in Barfi!. I was disappointed.”
A source close to the film added, “Anurag was very angry. He and his producer UTV had taken great pains to keep the look under wraps. But with the ad, the look is out and so is the big surprise.”
When asked if he has had a word with Ranbir about the issue, Anurag said, “Yes I have. But I have also shot several TV?commercials with Ranbir in the past and I know that he sticks to the brief that he is given, without asking any questions. I spoke to him a couple of days back and he simply smiled. When Ranbir smiles usko sab maf hai.”
Basu does not deny being disappointed. But he is in an exceptionally forgiving mood. “What can I say and what can I do? We had really taken a lot of pain to guard his look and keep it under wraps. But I guess it had to happen this way. So it’s fine now.”

Ranbir to show his Tapori side in 'Bombay Velvet'

At the very young age, Ranbir Kapoor has made a strong place for himself in the industry. The young star is one of the most successful Bollywood actor today. His last film, 'Rockstar' also set the cash register ringing at the ticket window. Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy shooting for Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfee’ in which he is working with Priyanka Chopra, after that he will start shooting for Dharma Productions’ ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ with his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone.
 Apparently, the young star has agreed to star in the Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet". The film was earlier offered to Aamir Khan but he didn’t give his nod to the director. Later came rumors that Ranveer Singh has been finalized to play a lead role in the film. But now, all the speculations has finally come to an end as Ranbir has confirmed his presence in the film.
 Now the latest buzz is that Ranbir Kapoor will be playing a Mumbai Tapori, which in fact will have shades of la Chulbul Pandey from 'Dabangg'. Anurag Kashyap gave the macho bhai of B-town Salman Khan a completely different and dumdaar, dabangg identity which rocketed the superstar to a great, successful height.
 Apparently, Ranbir, who is alleged to have given his nod for the project, will have to undergo few workshops for his character. "His character is that of a bold, upfront, street smart guy. His body language and talking style will be very Mumbaiyya," reveals a source.
 ‘Bombay Velvet’ is a period film based on historian Gyan Prakash’s book ‘Mumbai Fables’ and it’s script is written by Gyan Prakash, S Thanikachalam, Vasan Bala and Anurag Kashyap. The film’s music will be composed by Amit Trivedi.
 Talking about the film, Anurag Kashyap says, “Bombay Velvet” is my first film in the trilogy set against Bombay, the city, before it became a metropolis. It’s a story that’s always fascinated me, and we have been developing it for about four years. I am very excited that now, it’s fully ready, and we begin shooting this year.”
 ‘Bomabay Velvet’ is expected to go on floors by October, 2012; after Ranbir finishes Dharma Productions’ ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’.

Romance in Manali for Ranbir and Deepika!

They were real lovers once upon a time, they are back together once again, but this time on reel. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are getting all cosy and romantic, on screen in Manali. They are shooting for director Ayaan Mukherjee’s film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin are also with them.
 If sources are to be believed, the ex lovers are pretty cordial and are bonding well, without any awkwardness between them.
 One thing that we have to appreciate about Ranbir and Deepika is that despite their relationship issues, they did not let their personal life affect their professional life.

Ex-lovers Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have buried the hatchet and have been cast opposite each other in Karan Johar's new production 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' set to be directed by Ayan Mukherjee who last directed the much loved film ‘Wake Up Sid’.
 Now the latest buzz is that Deepika who is very happy to be reunited with Ranbir in this movie will be shooting some love making scenes with him. Deepika and Ranbir, who dated each other for over a year before heading for splitsville in 2009, were last seen in 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' in 2008, and their crackling chemistry was there for all to see.
 The rumours were rife that the duo will be seen lip-locking in the film. But that doesn't seems the end of it as the couple will also be shooting for some steamy, hot scenes for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
 A source said that both actors are well aware of the intimate scenes they are required to do, and are mentally prepared. It is quite difficult for ex-lovers to re-develop a physical proximity after they reunite. But, being true professionals, Ranbir and Dippy seems quite cool about getting cozy for the sake of their film.
 Director Ayan is also said to be making msjor off-screen efforts to ensure that their on-screen chemistry is applauded. Neither Deepika and Ranbir have any qualms about this physical proximity but could all their time spent together on the sets coupled with these love scenes rekindle their past romance
