Priyanka Chopra bonds well with Katy Perry

Actor Priyanka Chopra who was in the news of late for her friendship going sour with a lot of people in B-town, apparently has new friends to talk about. The actor who has been busy for the past year, juggling films and her singing career, has been making a lot of trips to the US. Priyanka who has spent a considerable amount of time in Los Angeles meeting people and recording her album, has also made quite a few friends in Hollywood.
 Earlier, she was in the news for her apparent friendship with UK singer Jay Sean followed by her meeting with pop star Lady Gaga. Gaga who was also in India to perform for a show but however, didn't meet PC. But now there are reports suggesting that the duo may be collaborating on a song in her new album. The latest addition to the list of her firangi friends is singer Katy Perry. The singer who has been in the news for her messy marriage break-up with Russel Brand recently visited India for the opening ceremony of a cricket tournament. Co-incidentally PC too performed at the same event and that is where they met and clicked.
 Following her first India concert last week, Katy Perry took some time off to become fast friends with top Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. Perry and Chopra went for a rickshaw ride in the southern city of Chennai
 A source present at the function reveals, "Priyanka and Katy were very happy to meet each other. PC has heard so much about Katy that she was chatting nineteen to a dozen with the singer. The two were spotted chatting about her upcoming album, work for which has been almost completed. Katy too was in awe of Priyanka's clothes and was heard complimenting PC for her dressing sense. The duo has also made plans to catch up, when she goes back to LA to release her album." After the event, Katy and PC even interacted on Twitter. PC tweeted, "too much fun doin girl time.
 Holdin u to the cupcake ATM in LA.. C u guys soon" to which Katy replied, "@priyankachopra lovely to meet you! Can't wait to host you in Los Angeles...also can't wait to raid your closet " PC in turn sent her an affirmation from her side that read, "haha!! For sure! N me urs for all ur floral jumpsuits!! @katyperry"

Katy Perry goes desi for IPL 5 opening ceremony performance

International pop icon Katy Perry went desi chic with a blingy choli, maang tika and bindis for her maiden performance in India at the star-studded opening ceremony of the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here Tuesday night.
Perry, 27, was the star attraction at the glittery event, held at the YMCA Grounds to kickstart the cricket extravaganza.
She sang “Teenage dream” to the packed audience, already smitten with performances by Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, Prabhudeva and Colonial Cousins.
She refrained from exposing too much for the Indian audience, but managed to add zing to her outfit by wearing almost transparent, pink-coloured lowers with sequined work. Her make-up was truly desi with bindis set above both her eyebrows, like that of an Indian bride.
Her international back singers too carried the Indian flavour by flaunting saris.
