Karisma Kapoor Out, Maryam Zakaria In For 'Rowdy Rathore' Song

Landing a small role in the recently released spy flick Agent Vinod seems to have proved lucky for Telugu actor Maryam Zakaria, who was seen as a dancer from Afghanistan in the Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer movie.
 Buzz has it that the sultry actress has stepped into the shoes of Karisma Kapoor for an item number in Akshay Kumar's next Rowdy Rathore. Industry insiders claim that the makers initially had actress Karisma Kapoor in mind  for the song but as the actress was busy with Vikram Bhatt's Dangerous Ishq, she declined the offer and it was decided that Maryam would be performing the number instead.
 Confirming the news, Zakaria was quoted to have said, "Yes, I am doing the item number. I took it up since it gives me an opportunity to work with Prabhu Deva. So, it will be a challenge for me. I am eagerly looking forward to it."
 Starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, Rowdy Rathore is expected to hit screens on June 1.
