The recently released Akshay Kumar action drama Rowdy Rathore has been an instant hit with the masses and after tasting success with the remake of Telugu hit Vikramarkudu, producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali now has reportedly decided to go ahead with remaking Tamil hit Ramana, which starred Vijaykanth.
Confirming the news, a source was quoted saying, "Sanjay sir has finally decided to go ahead with the Ramana remake as soon as possible. Although he will be busy with the Ranveer Singh-Kareena Kapoor film for the next six months, he might get the remake rolling by the end of the year."
The 2002 Tamil hit Ramana, which was later remade in Telugu and Kannada too, revolves around the struggles of a professor, who ropes in his students to fight corruption.
The recently released Rowdy Rathore had Akshay Kumar making a comeback to the action genre after a period of seven years and the Khiladi played a double role in the film, which stars Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead.
