Saif Ali Khan will play Jawaharlal Nehru?
in Britain-based Indian filmmaker, Gurinder Chadha’s partition film. The film will be shot in Delhi and Jodhpur.
“I’ve already acquired the necessary permission to shoot everywhere in India including Rashtrapati Bhavan. So I am all set. I don’t have to shoot in Pakistan at all. This would be my ultimate dream project and I can’t wait for it to take off,” she said.
It is heard that the filmmaker has already spoke to Naseeruddin Shah to play Muhammad Ali Jinnah and that he is ready for the role.
“This is my biggest challenge to date. I’ve been working on my partition film for some time now. The central character is Lord Mountbatten. The movie is set in January 1947 when Mountbatten was asked to oversee India and the movie ends in August 1947, so it’s a brief time span”.
“But (it is) a huge canvas requiring tonnes and tonnes of research and scores of characters. I’ve spoken to some people including Naseer and Saif. Nehru’s role is a cameo, so I wonder if Saif would be willing to do it,” she said on phone from London.
If news is to be believed, Hollywood biggies Colin Firth or Michael Fassbender will be roped in to play the film’s central figure Lord Mountbatten.
The film will go on floor this October.

Sanjay Dutt’s niece to star in ‘Yeh Jo Mohabbat hai’
Producer Ashim Samanta is set to continue the legacy of Aradhana Films with his upcoming romantic flick “Yeh Jo Mohabbat hai”.
This will be his son, Aditya Samanta’s debut film and he will be seen with Sanjay Dutt’s niece, Nazia Hussain. The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
Both Aditya and Nazia make a nice on screen couple. “I am very excited. I hope that they succeed. The chemistry on screen is excellent. They both look fantastic and like they are made for each other,” Ashim said on the music launch of the film Wednesday.
“She (Nazia) is exactly what we wanted. I auditioned so many girls. I wanted somebody young and innocent and not very modern. I wanted a mix of tradition and modernity and that was tough,” he added.
The music of the film is fresh and has been composed by Anu Malik, who was also present at the event along with the complete cast of the film. The film’s cast also includes veteran actors like Mohnish Behl, Rati Agnihotri and Farida Jalal.
Shakti Samanta’s banner Aradhana Films is known for its epic romantic dramas like Amar Prem, Kati Patang and Aradhana. “Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai” is also a romantic film but is modern in its outlook.
“Emotions like love don’t change with time. We might be portraying age old emotions in the film, but the film is very modern in its outlook,” Ashim said.

Ajay Devgn to copy ‘Jumping Jack’ moves in ‘Himmatwala’
He is known for playing intense roles, but now Ajay Devgn is ready to imitate Bollywood’s “Jumping Jack” Jitendra’s dance moves in his new film “Himmatwala”, which is based on the 1983 film of the same name.
“I am ready to do anything, be it action or dance… You can’t look at one department, it is a film in totality… I am looking at the whole film right now,” Ajay told reporters Wednesday.
Said Sajid Khan, director of the new version of “Himmatwala”: “Ajay’s image is action and intense oriented, but for me, he is a complete hero. He can do anything. Our film is not a take off on ‘Himmatwala’. It’s not a spoofy film.
“It is based on 1983 film ‘Himmatwala’ and it is my version of ‘Himmatwala’. You will get to see many things which were not there in ‘Himmatwala’. Actually, they are two different stories. We have taken rights officially for the film and for the two songs.”
Directed by Telugu filmmaker K. Raghvedra, Jeetendra and Sridevi-starrer “Himmatwala” was a super hit film of 1983.
Sajid says Jeetendra may do a guest appearance in his film.
“I will ask Jeetu-ji to do a cameo in the film. For Ajay, it is like homecoming because his dad did action for ‘Himmatwala’. This time around the action will be completely new and different.”

Deepika-Emraan in Dharma-Balaji film…
It is heard that Kareena said no to Ekta-Karan because she wasn’t comfortable working with Hashmi. However, Deepika, who is known to explore the Bollywood industry, has no problem working with Emraan.
A source close to the Balaji- Dharma project revealed, “It is strange Kareena was not happy with her role. She also told Ekta and Karan that her wedding would be around the same time they wanted to start shooting for the film. It’s a heroine-oriented film and Emraan is not the mainstay of the project. Deepika was so excited about her role that she agreed to it a couple of days before boarding the flight to Turkey, where she is currently shooting for Race 2.”
If sources are to be believed, it is said that after giving ample thought, Kareena decided to return to the project. “It would have been unethical to show Deepika the door then. Moreover, they were unanimous in their opinion that Deepika could pull off the role as efficiently as Kareena would have,” added the source.
“The film is an urban take on love – it is quirky, edgy and dramatic,” says an insider.
The film will go on floors by end of this year.

Saif to play superhero in Milan Luthria-Bhushan Kumar's next

Directed by Milan Luthria, who has had a fantastic run recently with the success of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI and THE DIRTY PICTURE, the film will be a character-driven story and an interesting mix of comedy, action, drama and romance creating larger-than-life cinema for movie lovers!
Says Bhushan Kumar, "After READY, my next film will be directed by Milan Luthria. As READY did 100 crore-plus business, we will continue to dabble in film production in a big way. Saif and I had always been talking about reuniting again for another film after KACHCHE DHAAGE but somehow nothing materialized. This time he was shooting in Istanbul while I was in Prague. We were speaking to each other over the phone when he reminded me again of doing another film which is when I narrated a plot to him of whose character fit him to the T. He was very thrilled about it and agreed to do the film over the phone itself. It was instinctive for both of us and I'm sure the outcome will be something to watch out for."
Paresh Rawal Replaces Prakash Raj In 'Sher'
A few days ago, Wanted and Singham villain Prakash Raj had walked out of the Sanjay Dutt-Vivek Oberoi starrer Sher. If sources are to be believed actor Paresh Rawal has replaced him in the film.
A source was quoted saying, "I don't know what really happened. Prakash Raj was supposed to play the villain. But now I am shooting with Paresh Rawal instead. We heard Prakashji had some monetary issues."
However, turns out that Prakash Raj had problems with the script as well. Another source was quoted saying, "Basically Prakash Raj walked out because of the constant changes in the script. By the time he came around to actually shooting, his role was very different from what he had been narrated. Prakash who is used to playing pivotal parts in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema opted out because of the fluid script."

Farah Khan's Next To Star Shah Rukh Khan And Boman Irani
Choreographer-turned-filmmaker and now turning actress with Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, Farah Khan, is all set to make her directorial next even grander than her previous project Om Shanti Om. For her upcoming film, tentatively titled Happy New Year is going to star five male actors. While Shah Rukh Khan is playing one of the leads, his company is going to produce the film as well.Apart from Shah Rukh, Boman Irani has also been roped into the film.
Farah was quoted saying, "Yes, Shah Rukh and Boman are confirmed for the film till now. The search for the rest of the cast will start soon."

Buzz is that Aamir Khan may share the same frame with South superstar Rajinikanth. Yes folks, and not for a South film, but the much-awaited Yash Raj Films production Dhoom 3.Aamir was quoted saying, "Rajini sir has a mass following, which is very tough to beat for any of the actors in B-Town. He is extremely popular not just in India but also in other countries. Also his on-screen style and persona is impeccable and hence if Aamir wants to work with the superstar it is well understood.
