A married heroine can't be Juliet: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

In talks with TOI, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's sources finally break the silence on what actually went wrong between Kareena and the magnum opus director who waited 13 long years to work with each other.
"While Kareena says she played runaway bride from Ram Leela, the director maintains he called off the deal with her because the Juliet of his film can't be a married heroine
Aishwarya Rai couldn't be Heroine because she was pregnant. And Kareena, who is Heroine, can't be Leela in Bhansali's Ram Leela because she's getting married. While the actress said she had walked out from the Gujarati adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the filmmaker says he was the one to take the call not to work with her for this project.
"A Juliet no matter how far removed from Shakespeare's original vision of her cannot be a married woman. With images of her wedding festivities flashing all over, it would have been impossible for Kareena to pass herself as a Gujju Juliet despite her great talent," a source close to Bhansali said.
Initial mutual excitement over finally working together dissolved into doubts and misgivings because, the source added, Kareena was not being clear about her wedding dates. "Sanjay holds no grudge against the actress although she was less than honest with him about her wedding plans," the source said.
To start with, the announcement of her wedding came as a bolt from the blue to the director. "It threw up a series of frightening scenarios. Kareena would, understandably, get busy with pre-wedding and post-wedding events. In the midst of her wedding in October, Kareena also needed at least a month to promote Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine which releases a month ahead of her wedding date."
"The parting was anything but acrimonious. Sanjay was surprised to read on Monday morning that Kareena had 'walked out' of Ram Leela. The truth is, this was building up for a long time. And money was the least of the problems. Sanjay was extremely keen to work with Kareena. He thinks she is an exceptional actress."
According to this source, it was too early to decide who would step into Kareena Kapoor's sharp stilettos. A friend of Sanjay's, requesting anonymity, said, "It isn't easy to find a replacement for Kareena. Sanjay isn't even trying. He is now looking for a completely new Leela."
This is the third time Bhansali and Kareena have come 'this' close to working with each other. She was earlier offered Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas - both of which eventually starred Aishwarya."

Abhishek slept away from Aishwarya after Aaradhya's birth

It’s been six months already that the Bachchan household welcomed the newest, and the cutest, addition to their family. Abhishek and Aishwarya were gifted with a baby girl Aaradhya last year, and the world has never been the same since for the father. Abhishek has candidly admitted that he has to work hard to get Aishwarya’s attention now because she is always busy with Aaradhya now. In fact, the actor further claimed that Aishwarya has been such a hands-on mother all this while that he slept in another room after the birth of the baby.
 It’s funny when one of the most powerful actors of our country makes such claims, but they are believable. Abhishek reportedly sounded very excited while disclosing all this to a leading daily. He said that his personal routine had gone haywire since the baby got added to the family. Though he seemed to be happy with it, further saying that he can play with her all the time now, and even attempt to change her diapers. Earlier he did face some problems when the baby cried in the middle of the night, Aishwarya even made her sleep in another room due to it. But now, he has gotten used to all this.

Amitabh set to build college in Aishwarya's name

If the latest buzz is to be believed Bollywood Mega Star Amitabh Bachchan is going to launch a college after his daughter-in-law (bahu) Aishwarya Rai’s name in Daulatpaur.
 An aide from Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) informed a leading daily that the Daulatpur village committee has handed over the land to Amitabh Bachchan Sewa Samiti (ABSS), a newly formed organisation and hence, the construction work will start soon.
 On January 27th 2008, Amitabh has already laid the foundation stone ‘Aishwarya Rai College’ there at the place. Initially the place would be constructed for the classes from nursery to 12 standard and then it would be upgraded to degree college.
 Bachchan has in between quite busy and his health too has not been well so he could not find time for the construction and other formalities of the college. Thus he is now all set and like to start the college’s construction very soon.
 Aishawarya has been true lucky in his life that she became the Miss World then turned highly paid Bollywood actress, the biggest name in the world of brand endorsements, become an internationally famed star, turned the daughter-in-law of Bollywood’s leading family Bachchans and then become the proud mother of a cute daughter.Now she is going to be gifted a collage after her name by her father-in-law who loves showering blessings and all on her bahu (daughter-in-law).

Ash to appear at Cannes Film Festival with 'Beti B'

Former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular face of Cannes for decades. Her long associated with international beauty brand L’Oreal lands the actress on the red carpet of Cannes for so many years. But this time, it’s going to be exception; she will be accompanied by her five months daughter, Aaradhya.
 Well, this will be the little angel second foreign trip; recently, she visited Dubai with her mom. Last year, Aishwarya walked the red carpet with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. At the event, Madhur glandly announced his highly anticipated film, ‘Heroine’ starring Ash but soon the project shelved when Amitabh declared Aishwarya’s pregnancy. Later, Madhur roped Kareena Kapoor as the lead actress of ‘Heroine’. 
 Cannes film festival is one world's great premiere film events and it is another golden opportunity for Ash to renew her contacts with Hollywood filmmakers.
 Apart from Aishwarya, Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu will be at Cannes. Being the ambassador of liquor brand Chivas, the actor is likely to be accompanied by his designer friend Rohit Bal. The actor had recently expressed his desire to showcase his upcoming film Heroine at the Cannes. "I would love to be (a part of Cannes festival). That is a film that deserves to be there. If Heroine can be showcased there, it will be great," said Arjun.
Bipasha will be there to promote her new film ‘Singularity’ opposite Hollywood hottie Josh Hartnett.
 Aishwarya and her wardrobe at Cannes always get special mention. Let’s see this time how the new mother turns up for the event.
